The DELE (Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera) is the official certification of Spanish language proficiency for non-native speakers. It is issued by the Instituto Cervantes, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the teaching of Spanish worldwide.

The DELE exam is offered at over 900 examination centers in more than 100 countries around the world. The exam is offered at different levels, from A1 (beginner) to C2 (proficient). Candidates can choose to take the exam in either paper-based or computer-based format.
