"We try to make our patients feel as comfortable as possible," says Dr. Hassan. "We understand the challenges they face being away from their home countries, and we want to provide them with the best possible care."

The Arab medical community in Yiwu has not only benefited the Arab population but has also contributed to the overall healthcare system of the city. Arab doctors have shared their knowledge and expertise with their Chinese colleagues, leading to improved medical practices in the region.

Dr. Fatima Al-Kadri, a general practitioner from Syria, is another Arab doctor who has made a significant impact in Yiwu. After fleeing the war in Syria, Dr. Al-Kadri arrived in Yiwu in 2015. She struggled to find work at first due to language barriers and cultural differences.

Undeterred, Dr. Al-Kadri volunteered her services at a local clinic, where she quickly gained recognition for her skills and dedication. In 2018, she was offered a full-time position at the Yiwu Central Hospital, becoming the first Arab female doctor to work in the city's public healthcare system.

"I am proud to be a part of the Yiwu community," says Dr. Al-Kadri. "I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of this city, both Arab and Chinese."

The presence of Arab doctors in Yiwu is a testament to the growing economic and cultural ties between China and the Arab world. These doctors provide essential healthcare services to the Arab community, fostering a sense of well-being and belonging in their new home.
