Arab Students Excel at Beijing Foreign Studies University Arabic Language Competition266
The 16th Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) Arabic Language Competition for Non-Native Speakers was held online from June 12 to 14, 2022. The competition, organized by the School of Asian and African Studies at BFSU, attracted 146 students from 32 universities across China.
The competition consisted of five rounds: a written test, a speech contest, a debate, a talent show, and a cultural knowledge test. The written test covered a wide range of topics, including Arabic grammar, vocabulary, and translation. The speech contest required students to give a speech on a topic related to Arab culture or current events. The debate focused on a controversial issue related to the Arab world. The talent show allowed students to showcase their talents in areas such as singing, dancing, and poetry recitation. The competition was judged by a panel of experts from BFSU and other universities. The judges were impressed by the high level of Arabic proficiency displayed by the students. The winners of the competition were announced at a ceremony held on June 14. The first prize was awarded to a student from Peking University. The second prize was awarded to a student from BFSU. The third prize was awarded to a student from Shanghai University of International Business and Economics.
